Gordon County K-9 assists with arresting wanted felon who barricaded himself in football concession stand

According to a Gordon County Sheriff’s Office incident report, On Monday, February 13th, 2023, at 8:50 AM, Deputy Giorgione responded to the area of Shepard Road in reference to a suspicious male in the area. According to the report, “At approximately the 100 block of Shepard Road, Deputy Giorgione observed a black male fitting the description of the suspicious male. As Deputy Giorgione began to get out of his patrol vehicle, the male fled on foot through the woods in the direction of Gordon Central High School. Deputy Giorgione and Deputy Holley gave chase until losing sight of the individual in the woods. Deputies then responded to 355 Warrior path at the Gordon Central High School football field in reference to an individual running into the football field concession stand. The individual barricaded himself in the closet of the concession stand. Deputy Pullen deployed his K9, and the individual, later identified as Joshua Labryant Turner, 32, of Calhoun, was taken into custody.” Deputies located Upon marijuana in his pocket while searching him. Joshua was then transported to the Gordon County Jail, where he was found to have multiple outstanding felony warrants for burglary, multiple counts of obstruction, and other family violence charges. Joshua was also charged with obstruction of law enforcement officer, loitering and prowling, possession of marijuana less than 1 oz, and burglary 2nd degree.
