Calhoun man arrested for DUI after speeding on Highway 53 in Gordon County

According to a Georgia State Patrol incident report, On June 17th, 2023, at 7:56 PM, Trooper Noeller was stationary in the driveway of the Meadowdale Baptist Church located at 1811 Rome Road on GA 53 when he observed a 2016 Chrysler 200 traveling at a high rate of speed at 74 mph in the right lane. Trooper Noeller initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the driver Victor Perez Fraire Victor, 27, of Calhoun. Trooper Noeller reported, “While talking with Mr. Perez Fraire, [I] observed that his eyes were bloodshot and watery, and [I] could smell a very strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person. I asked Mr. Perez Fraire how much he had to drink today. Mr. Perez Fraire stated he had drunk a 40 oz. Beer approximately forty-five minutes prior to me stopping him. Mr. Perez Fraire was extremely talkative and had stories to tell.” During Standardized Field Sobriety Evaluations, Perez Fraire showed several signs of impairment and failed to follow instructions while breathing into the PBT. The trooper only received a false reading due to the lack of proper breath flow. Perez Fraire was placed under arrest for DUI and refused the state test. Perez Fraire was booked into the Gordon County Jail, and charged with DUI and speeding.
