Trion woman arrested for DUI after being stopped for multiple violations in Chattooga County

According to a Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office incident report, On Sunday, October 1st, 2023, at 3:40 PM, Deputy Villagomez was sitting stationary on Ridgeway Drive near the old power plant in Trion next to Tatum Road when he observed a Jeep fail to stop at the stop sign on Tatum Road nearly causing a traffic crash. Deputy Villagomez reported, “[I] pulled behind the vehicle and observed it fail to maintain a single lane of travel, so [I] then conducted a traffic stop on Ridgeway at Old Justice. Upon walking to the vehicle, [I] could hear extremely loud music coming from the inside to the point where [I] couldn’t speak to the driver. After she turned it down, [I] identified myself as a sheriff’s deputy and reasoning for the stop. Jessica Danielle Henderson, 29, of Trion, had a cell phone in her lap while the motor vehicle was in motion. When running her tag to the vehicle, it came back as having no registration or no valid insurance. Ms. Henderson was asked to step out of the vehicle by me due to smelling an odor of alcohol coming from her breath.” Henderson stated that she only had two beers prior to driving. Deputy Villagomez asked if she would consent to field sobriety, which she advised that she would, but not a PBT. She then uttered the statement, “Just take me to jail. ” Deputy Villagomez observed several signs of impairment and placed Henderson under arrest for DUI. Deputy Villagomez located a half-empty bottle of Smirnoff ” shooter ” Vodka in the center console, ready to drink. Henderson was transported to the Chattooga County Jail, charged with loud noise violation, DUI, failure to maintain a single lane, driving with no insurance, failure to stop at a stop sign, expired tag, open container violation, hands-free violation, driving without a license on person.
