Ringgold man arrested for DUI after driving at speeds over 100 mph on I-75 in Gordon County

According to a Georgia State Patrol incident report, On December 31st, 2022, at 9:02 PM, Trooper Cantrell was traveling southbound on 1-75 in the area of mile marker 308. Trooper Cantrell reported, “[I] observed a vehicle (2021 Ram 1500) catching up to me in the left lane at a high rate of speed. [I] visually estimated and confirmed the speed of that vehicle with my department-issued RADAR to be 103 miles per hour in a 70 mph zone. The vehicle slowed down and passed me in the right lane at 86 miles per hour. [I] observed the vehicle change lanes to the middle lane and fail to maintain its lane back into the right lane, nearly striking another vehicle.” Trooper Cantrell conducted a traffic stop inside Bartow County and made contact with the driver, identified as Andrew Kalen Bradley, 27, of Ringgold. While talking with Bradley, Trooper Cantrell observed that his eyes were bloodshot and watery. Trooper Cantrell noticed that Bradley’s speech was slow and slurred. Trooper Cantrell also observed an open Twisted Tea in the cup holder. Trooper Cantrell reported, “[I] asked Mr. Bradley where he was coming from, and he advised me that he was coming from Ringgold, Georgia. [I] asked Mr. Bradley where he was headed, and he advised me that he was headed to his house in Ringgold. [I] asked Mr. Bradley where he was, and he advised me that he was in Dalton. [I] asked Mr. Bradley to step to the rear of his vehicle, and he did. [I] asked Mr. Bradley again how much he had to drink, and he advised me that he had three beers. Mr. Bradley advised me that he had three of the Twisted Teas. Mr. Bradley stated, “I knew this was not a good idea”.” During field sobriety tests, Bradley showed several signs of impairment and was placed under arrest for DUI. Bradley refused the state test and was then transported to the Gordon County Jail, charged with DUI, open container violation, license not on a person, speeding, and failure to a single lane.
