Atlanta man arrested after driving recklessly at speeds well over 100 mph on I-75 in Catoosa County

According to a Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office incident report, On January, 12th, 2023, at 2:20 AM, Deputy Weaver was sitting stationary on I-75 northbound at the Exit 348 on ramp. According to the report, Deputy Weaver observed a 2020 Ford Escape in traveling at 109mph. According to the report, “As the vehicle approached Deputy Weavers position, he observed the vehicle make sporadic lane changes, going from the left lane to the far right lane to pass other vehicles. As the vehicle passed two slower vehicles in the right lane, he ran them off the road to get around them. As the vehicle passed Deputy Weaver, he initiated a traffic stop. Deputy Weaver made a driver side approach and stated “Good morning, I’m Deputy Weaver with the Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office, do you know why I pulled you over today”? The driver stated “I was going pretty fast and speeding”. Deputy Weaver informed the driver he checked him at 109mph in a 70pmph zone.” Deputy Weaver took the driver identified as Deanthony Darrell Cole, 29, of Atlanta, was placed under arrest for reckless driving. Deanthony stated “I know I was going way too fast, I made a mistake and I am sorry”. Deanthony was transported to the Catoosa County Jail, charged with speeding and reckless driving.
