Wanted woman found with meth after being stopped for hands-free violation in Floyd County

According to a Floyd County Police Department incident report, On May 17th, 2023, at 6:11 PM, Officer Sangphim and Officer Corbin were observing traffic in the area of Park Avenue and Booze Mountain Road when they noticed a white female driving a black truck while manipulating her cell phone. Officers conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the woman, identified as Christie Robertson Grafton, 43, Homeless, Rome. Officer Corbin reported, “She admitted to being on her cell phone, and when we asked for her driver’s license, she stated that she did not have one and that she was suspended. We asked her to step out of the vehicle to speak with us. After getting her name and date of birth and running it through dispatch, they advised that she was not suspended. However, she had a warrant for her arrest from Polk County Sheriff’s Office. Dispatched advised that they wanted her and has a history of drug possession.” During a search, Grafton advised she had meth in her bra. Grafton was booked into the Floyd County Jail, charged with possession of a controlled substance, driving without a license, and hands-free distracted.
