Unlicensed driver arrested for DUI after leaving party and driving all over the roadway in Floyd County

According to a Floyd County Police Department incident report, On November 27th, 2022, dispatch advised any units on Hwy 27 north near the county line for a grey passenger car vehicle that was failing to maintain its lane all over the road. Officer Vicente and Officer Quijada responded to the area. Officer Quijada arrived in the area and located the vehicle swerving side to side within its lane of travel. Officer Quijada and Officer Vicente initiated a traffic stop with the vehicle and made contact with the driver, identified as Haroldo Domingo-Perez, 26, of Calhoun. Officer Vicente reported, “While talking to him, [I] began to notice the odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle. [I] asked the driver if he had had anything to drink, and he stated no, he had not drunk, but his father had. [I] asked if he had a license, and he stated he did not. Officer Quijada advised me that the driver did admit to only drinking two 12oz Corona Beers prior to driving.” The passenger, who was identified as Mr. Fransisco Morales, stated that they were coming from a party that took place in Trion. During field sobriety testing, Perez showed several signs of impairment. With the clues from the evaluation and the smell of alcohol Officer Vicente placed Perez under arrest for DUI. Perez refused implied consent and was transported to the Floyd County Jail, where he was charged with DUI and driving without a valid license.
