Tunnel Hill woman wanted on theft charges arrested after shoplifting again from Dalton Walmart

According to a Dalton Police Department incident report, On May 28th, 2023, at Officer Ellenburg was in the area of 815 shugart Road Walmart in reference to a separate case when he was made aware by the Walmart loss prevention officer that he had been observing a shoplifting in progress. Officer Ellenburg observed video showing a female subject (Amanda Dawn Headrick, 37, of Tunnel Hill ) on the security monitors. Officer Ellenburg observed Amanda take two queen sized air mattresses, still in the original packaging, off of the shelf and place them in a Walmart plastic bag. She then placed the bagged items in the storage area underneath the shopping cart. She also had other items in her shopping cart that she had placed in her shopping cart prior to getting the air mattresses. Amanda then used old receipts to make a fraudulent return at the service desk. The employee proceeded to return the items and give Amanda the refunded amount in cash. At this time, Officer Ellenburg and MPO McBrayer moved to Amandas location. Officer Ellenburg reported, “Once we made contact, [I] placed Amanda in handcuffs and informed her that she was under arrest for return fraud. She then stated that she did not do anything and that she had receipts for everything. At this time, MPO McBrayer read Amanda her miranda rights and we escorted her back to the loss prevention office. While we were back to the office, Amanda stated “I’m not going to talk to you, so just take me to the jail so I can bond out.” [I] informed her that that was okay but we needed to get her information and documentation from the loss prevention office first. The Walmart loss prevention officer then proceeded to run Amandas information through their database and it showed that she had been caught shoplifting previously therefore Amanda was trespassed from all Walmart locations.” Amanda also showed to have multiple felony warrants through Whitfield County. Amanda was booked into the Whitfield County Jail, charged with refund fraud x2, criminal trespass, burglary 1st degree, theft by taking felony, forgery checks x2, financial transaction card fraud, exploit/deprive disable/elderly.
