Summerville man arrested for DUI after leaving club in Chattanooga and crashing on Hwy 27

According to a Georgia State Patrol incident report, On March 19th, 2023, at 3:05 AM, Sgt. Shamblin was dispatched to a single-vehicle crash on GA-1 at North Ridge Estates in Chattooga County. Chattooga County Sheriffs Department Deputy Chris Clark advised that the driver was found sitting in his vehicle on the wrong side of the roadway northbound, parked facing south. The vehicle had visible damage consistent with striking a roadway sign support in the front, across the hood and sunroof, which was busted. Trooper Shamblin made contact with the driver, identified as Patrick Lamar Snead, 33, of Summerville. Trooper Shamblin reported, “Mr. Snead had a strong odor of alcoholic beverage on his breath as we spoke. [I] asked Snead where he was coming from and how much alcohol he had consumed. He stated he was coming from a club in Chattanooga and had only two drinks prior to midnight. [I] asked him what happened and why he was stopped on the wrong side of the roadway, facing the wrong direction of travel. Snead stated that he did not remember how he got to where he was and couldn’t remember anything prior to the Rock Spring area. During field sobriety tests, Snead showed several signs of impairment and a BAC of .125 on a PBT. Snead was then placed under arrest for DUI. Snead was booked into the Chattooga County Jail and charged with DUI.
