Rome woman arrested after stealing $1,637 in cash from Wendy’s over a period of time

According to a Floyd County Police Department incident report, On June 23rd, 2023, at 9:56 PM, Officer Quijada was dispatched to an address on Linden Street in reference to an intoxicated female that was outside the residence being verbally loud. Dispatch advised that the female, Iesha Shante Smith, 32, of Rome, had active felony warrants. Officers arrived on the scene and located Smith, who was taken into custody. Smith stated that she already knew she had a warrant and stated that she was going to turn herself in on Sunday anyways. Smith also stated that she was not drinking and that nobody was being loud. Ms. Smith stated that the person who called E911 on her was a female she knew who called just because she was jealous of her and also knew she had a warrant. Smith did not want to provide the name of the female, who she believed Called E911 and lied about her being loud and drunk. The warrant was for felony theft by taking. According to the warrant, Smith was captured on camera stealing $1,637 in cash from Wendy’s on Turner McCall Blvd. According to the warrant, Smith stole the cash over a period of time between May 4th and May 21st. Smith was booked into Floyd County Jail and charged with felony theft by taking.
