According to a Floyd County Metro Task Force incident report, On April 4th, 2023, Shahbaz Ahmad, 45, of Rome, made contact with the person who he thought was a child under the age of 16 and then engaged in a graphic conversation before arranging the meeting. Ahmad was arrested at the agreed upon location and taken into custody. Ahmad is charged with child molestation (criminal attempt), use of a computer to solicit a child, and obscene internet contact with a child.
