Two killed in Tuesday evening head-on crash on Redmond Circle in Rome
Two people were killed another seriously injured in a two-vehicle wreck at around 6:20 p.m. Tuesday evening on Redmond Circle at West Butler Street. According to the Georgia State Patrol, a 2015 Ford F-450 4×4 Crew Cab crossed the centerline and struck a 1997 Infiniti I30 head-on. The Infiniti rolled and landed on its top. The driver of the Infiniti, 51-year old Valerie Watts of Rome, was killed as was a rear-seat passenger identified as 18-year old Antwan Jameson, also of Rome. A front-seat passenger in the Infiniti, 49-year old Thomas Watts, was injured and transported to Floyd Medical Center. The driver of the F-450, 36-year old Ronnie Barker of Lindale, was not hurt. Charges are pending the conclusion of the GSP Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team.
