Summerville woman charged with murder after claiming self-defense in domestic that turned deadly
On January 9, 2020 the Summerville Police Department took Angela Rowland, age 53, of Summerville into custody on charges relating to the shooting death of her live-in boyfriend or Ronald Moates on the night of December 30, 2019. The investigation by the Summerville Police Department and the Georgia Bureau of investigations revealed evidence that the shooting on Kelly Street occurred as a result of a domestic argument that occurred between Rowland and Moates. Rowland initially stating the shooting to be self-defense however this claim was disproven during the course of the investigation. Rowland was booked into the Chattooga County Jail on warrants for murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm for during the commission of a crime.
