Several injured in head-on crash on Brown Bridge Road Wednesday morning in Murray County

According to a Georgia State Patrol crash, on Wednesday, July 29th, 2020, at around 10:30 AM, a 2004 Honda CR-V being driven by Tracy Silvers, 44 of Dalton was traveling west on Brown Bridge Road near Fox Bridge Lane. A 2009 Chevrolet Impala LS being driven by Devlyn Carrel, 24 of Dalton was traveling east on Brown Bridge Road. Silvers did not remember much of what happened. She stated to the investigating trooper she was attempting to get a paper inside her vehicle. The Honda crossed the centerline into the eastbound lane striking the Impala on the front and left side with the Honda's front and left side. The Honda then traveled back into the westbound lane and into the ditch on the north side of the roadway. The Impala rotated counterclockwise, striking a mailbox with the Impala's rear right side. The Impala continued to rotate counterclockwise into the ditch on the south side of the roadway. The area of impact was in the eastbound lane of Brown Bridge Road, determined by gouge marks, furrow marks on the shoulder, mailbox post, fluids, and final rest. After the impact, the Honda came to an uncontrolled rest in the ditch facing west. Vehicle 2 came to an uncontrolled rest in the ditch facing south. Silvers suffered serious injuries in the crash and was transported by EMS to Hamilton Medical Center in Dalton. Devlyn and his passenger Ashlyn Harris, 20 of Chatsworth, were both injured and transported by EMS to Hamilton Medical Center as well. Silvers was cited by the investigating trooper for failure to maintain lane. According to the report, nether occupants in the Impala were wearing safety belts, and the trooper issued a citation for no seat belt.
