Catoosa County K9 sniffs out a kilo of cocaine during traffic stop on I-75, Kentucky woman arrested
According to a Catoosa County incident report, on Thursday, September 3rd, 2020, at around 7:48 PM, K-9 Deputy Penson was contacted by Georgia State Trooper Parker. Trooper Parker requested that he search a 2011 Kia Sorento he had stopped on I-75 northbound at exit 350 with his K-9 partner. Deputy Penson searched the vehicle with K-9 Fraya. K-9 Fraya showed a change in behavior and sat on the rear driver's door. Deputy Penson advised Trooper Parker that the K-9 had sat on the vehicle. Deputy Penson searched the vehicle and located a women's purse in the passenger floorboard. Inside the purse, Deputy Penson located a large brick type item wrapped in duck tape. Deputy Penson also located a small plastic bag that contained several Xanax bars and a pill bottle that contained Hydrocodones. Deputy Penson placed the driver under arrest. The brick was opened, and a white powder was located inside the brick. Trooper Parker field-tested the powder, and it tested positive for cocaine. According to the report they Deputy Penson located about a Kilo of cocaine. Deputy Penson contacted a detective due to who responded to the location. Deputy Penson turned the evidence and about $768.00 over to him. The vehicle was towed to the Sheriff's Office impound lot. The driver identified as Kimberly Darlene Carver, 30 of Bowling Green, Kentucky, was transported to the Catoosa County Jail charged with trafficking in cocaine (felony), possession of cocaine (felony), weaving, and affixing tint to windows or windshields. She remains in the Catoosa County Jail. At the time of this article, the Georgia State Patrol said their incident report was not complete yet.
