Menlo man arrested for DUI at sobriety check in Chattooga County

According to a Georgia State Patrol incident report, On July 8th, 2023, at approximately 10:15 PM, Trooper Mosley was contacted by Sgt. Shamblin regarding an impaired driver at the road check at East Washington Street at Penn Street. The driver, identified as Levi Michael Brown, 28, of Menlo, submitted to a Preliminary Breath Test that resulted in a positive reading for alcohol on his breath. Trooper Mosley reported, “While speaking with Mr. Brown, [I] could smell the odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from his person. Mr. Brown’s eyes were bloodshot and watery. Mr. Brown stated that he had been in Rome and only had two India Pale Ale (IPA) beers.” During Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, brown showed several signs of impairment and refused the state test. Brown was placed under arrest for DUI and was transported to the Chattooga County Jail.
