LaFayette motorcyclist arrested again after high-speed pursuit in Walker County

According to a Walker County Sheriff’s Office incident report, On April 28th, 2023, Deputy Moss was stationary at Kemp Road and East Hwy 136. He noticed a 2005 Yamaha YZF turn onto Hwy 136 and then increase the speed at a high rate. Deputy Moss reported, “[I] then pulled out behind motorcycle and observed he was passing several other vehicles on a double yellow middle line. At this point, the motorcyclist was driving in a high rate of speed and recklessly. [I] then activated my emergency lights and sirens to conduct a traffic stop. The motorcyclist (Alex Tyler Wallin, 25, of LaFayette) did not slow down or attempt to come to a stop.” Deputy Barkley responded and advised dispatch they would be giving chase at this time due to extremely reckless driving. Alex sped through the Naomi Elementary School zone and made a left turn onto Hwy 151, going north at a high rate of speed. Alex then took a left onto Dunwoody Road and continued to drive in a reckless manner. Alex took several more roads leading back to Hwy 151. The pursuit went south on Hwy 151 until they got to 4523 Hwy 151, where Cpt. Anderson and Lt. Barrett were stationary, blocking all lanes of travel, causing Alex to have to stop. Cpt. Anderson, Lt. Barrett, Deputy Moss, and Deputy Mcnichols then took Alex into custody. Deputies located marijuana on Alex during a search. Alex returned suspended for child support obligations with a violation date of December 22nd, 2022, and a suspension date of January 8th, 2023. Alex was served on April 14th, 2023, during an incident in which he and his mom were both arrested during a traffic stop. Alex was then transported to the Walker County Jail, charged with driving while license suspended, reckless driving, felony fleeing in an attempt to elude, failure to maintain lane, improper turn, and lane usage violation.
