Douglasville motorcyclist on probation for fleeing arrested after 120 mph pursuit in Chattooga County

According to a Georgia State Patrol incident report, On December 4th, 2023, at 4:00 PM, Trooper Capehart was on patrol in his marked Dodge Challenger patrol vehicle on GA-1 (Hwy 27) around Halls Valley Road in Chattooga County when he observed a 2013 Honda CBR motorcycle speeding at 72 mph. Trooper Capehart reported, “As [I] was attempting to turn around, the motorcyclist increased his speed. [I] advised Troop A Dispatch Center [I] was attempting to catch up to the motorcycle south on GA 1.” While passing Mountain View Road, the motorcyclist passed several vehicles on the shoulder of the roadway. The motorcyclist looked over his left shoulder with the trooper right behind him, all his emergency equipment activated. The motorcyclist increased his speed to well over 125 mph. The trooper was able to get the motorcyclist stopped near Harrell Street in Trion and took the motorcyclist, identified as David Thomas Horner, 33, of Douglasville, GA, at gunpoint. Horner was then placed under arrest for felony fleeing. Trooper Capehart reported, “The driver had a valid class C Georgia driver’s license. It is unknown why the driver initiated this pursuit. Chattooga County Dispatch advised the driver was on felony probation for fleeing and attempting to elude. Trooper Perry transported Horner to the Chattooga County Jail and charged with felony fleeing, speeding, reckless driving, driving without a license on person, expired tag, and improper passing.
