Dalton woman with history of shoplifting caught shoplifting again from Walmart

According to a Dalton Police Department incident report, On May 26th, 2023, at 7:07 PM, Officer Ellenburg responded to 815 Shugart Road Walmart in response to a shoplifting in progress. The complainant had stated that he was currently watching a female (Sabrina Jones, 30, of Dalton) on the security footage secure items into a backpack that she was carrying around. The officer observed Sabrina go to the self-checkout and pay for the few items she had inside the buggy. She did not pay for the items in her backpack and attempted to leave the store. Officer Ellenburg made contact with Sabrina and immediately detained her in handcuffs. Sabrina admitted to the officer that she did purposefully conceal the items stating that she knew it was not right, but she did not have a lot of money and was trying to feed her family. The officer found that she had been caught shoplifting multiple times from various Walmart’s. The Walmart employee asked Sabrina about these other times, and she stated that she did not remember those times. He also confirmed that she was trespassed from every Walmart in the nation and was not allowed to be on the property. Sabrina also showed to have a failure to appear warrant (original charge shoplifting) issued by Snellville Police Department. Sabrina was found to have two prior convictions for shoplifting, therefore, making her shoplifting charge a misdemeanor. Sabrina was booked into the Whitfield County Jail, charged with shoplifting and criminal trespass.
