Dalton man arrested for DUI after crashing and flipping vehicle in Whitfield County

According to a Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office incident report, On November 12th, 2022, at 12:34 AM, Deputy Mora and Lt. Rann were dispatched to 700 Cavender Road in reference to a vehicle crash that involved one male subject, later identified as Chandler Louis Nichols, 23, Dalton, receiving injuries upon having his vehicle turned over in a ditch. Nichols admitted to deputies drinking alcohol prior to driving home. According to the report, “Deputy Mora read the Georgia Implied Consent Notice to Mr. Nichols. Mr. Nichols consented to blood alcohol testing by a medical professional at Hamilton Medical Hospital. Deputy Mora asked Mr. Nichols how much he had to drink. Mr. Nichols stated he had six beers and four shots. Deputy Mora asked Mr. Nichols if he remembered how fast he was going. Mr. Nichols stated he did not remember. Deputy Mora advised Mr. Nichols that due to Emergency Medical Services keeping him for medical screenings, that a warrant will be issued for his arrest, and he will need to turn himself into Whitfield County Jail.” Nicholas was charged with DUI Driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to maintain lane, and driving too fast for conditions.
