Crandall man arrested for DUI again after crashing into ditch in Dalton

According to a Dalton Police Department incident report, On June 15th, 2023, Officer Cruz responded to the area of North Elm St and Matilda Street in regards to a vehicle in the ditch on it side. Officer Cruz observed a silver BMW X6 with the right front passenger tire in the ditch. The left side of the vehicle was raised up in the air. Officer Cruz made contact with the driver, later identified as Bryant Stuart Johnson, 50, of Crandall, who stated he was driving around to find a place to fix his tires. Bryant stated when he turned, he did not see the ditch. Officer Cruz reported, “While speaking with Bryant, [I] noticed his speech was slurred, his movements were slow, and he was sweating profusely. Bryant had a minor injury to his head, and he was loaded on the back of the ambulance. While in the back of the ambulance, [I] asked Bryant if he had any alcohol to drink, to which he responded yes. Bryant stated he only had two 24oz beers prior to driving. Bryant provided a breath sample which showed a blood alcohol concentration of .235. Bryant agreed to the state test and was transported to the Hamilton Medical Center. Bryant was cited for failure to maintain lane and DUI less safe. According to arrest records, Bryant has a very long history of DUI arrests.
