Chatsworth man arrested for DUI after failing to move over for emergency vehicle in Dalton

According to a Dalton Police Department incident report, On June 18th, 2023, Officer Ruiz assisted Lt. Cantrell with a traffic stop on West Waugh St and Hamilton Street with a 2018 Honda Civic. Lt. Cantrell advised that the driver, identified as Bradley Dewayne Phillips, 36, of Chatsworth, seemed to be impaired. Officer Ruiz reported, “While [I] spoke with Bradley, [I] could smell the odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath. In addition, Bradley’s speech was very slow and lethargic. At times, it seemed as if it took Bradley a few seconds to understand what [I] was saying.” During field sobriety tests, Bradley showed several signs of impairment and was placed under arrest for DUI. Bradley agreed to the state test and was transported to the Whitfield County Jail, where he showed a BrAC of .124. Bradley was charged with DUI and failure to move over for emergency vehicles.
