Alabama man arrested for DUI after pointing firearm at woman on Highway 27 in Chattooga County

According to a Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office incident report, On Tuesday, January 3rd, 2023, at 8:44 AM, Deputy Villagomez was dispatched to Highway 27 near Trade Day in reference to a man in a white Honda Civic pointing a firearm at a female victim while driving. Deputy Villagomez made contact with the driver, later identified as Jason Neal Johnson, 50, of Alabama. Deputy Villagomez reported, “During speaking with Mr. Johnson, [I] noticed His eyes to be bloodshot, glossy and red as well as smelling a strong odor of alcohol coming from his person. [I] asked Mr. Johnson if he had been drinking, and he stated he was last night.” During field sobriety testing, Johnson showed several signs of impairment and a BAC of .11 on a PBT. Johnson was placed into custody for DUI/ Alcohol/ 0.08 grams or more and then read him Implied Consent for suspects age 21 or over in which he agreed to the state test of his blood. The victim stated that he did, in fact, point a gun at her. Inv. Burrage assisted Deputy Villagomez. Johnson was transported to the Chattooga County Jail and where he was charged with: DUI/ Alcohol/ 0.08 grams or more, Pointing a gun at another, and simple assault.
