According to a Chattooga County Sheriffs incident report, On January 28th, 2023, at 6:39 PM, Deputies responded to 305 Haywood Valley Drive and spoke outside the residence with the victim, who said her daughter, Christa Leeann McWilliams, 41, of Trion, and she was having an argument. The victim said Christa cut her with a machete and shot at her with a .38 caliber pistol in her home and in the yard. The victim said she came outside because she was “scared that Christa would seriously injure or kill her” and said Christa was still inside with the weapons. Deputies used the PA system on a patrol car to order Christa to exit the residence. Christa complied and was placed in custody. Christa was booked into the Chattooga County Jail and charged with aggravated assault under the Family Violence Act, false imprisonment, terroristic threats and acts, possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of a crime, criminal trespass, and interfering with calls for emergency assistance.
