West Virginia woman arrested after being found driving stolen vehicle in Floyd County

According to a Floyd County Police Department incident report, On August 18th, 2023, Officer Surrett was notified by PFC. Masciovecchio about a stolen 2016 Ford Escape displaying tag number SAS1388. Officer Surrett reported, “As [I] was patrolling the area of Maple Rd. in my marked Floyd County patrol vehicle, [I] observed the vehicle parked at 3126 Maple Road as well as a white female exit the vehicle and go into the store. Upon checking out with the vehicle, [I] ran the tag through dispatch, and they did confirm the car was stolen.” Officer Surett then made contact with the female, identified as Cinthea Marie Garrison, 31, of Weirton, West Virginia. At this time, Sgt. Tetsworth, Officer Masciovecchio, and Officer George arrived on the scene. Cinthea was placed under arrest and booked into the Floyd County Jail, charged with felony theft by taking vehicle and possession of Schedule I.
