Wanted felon found in possession of guns and marijuana during probation check in Tunnel Hill

According to a Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office incident report, On March 28th, 2023, a Catoosa County Detective was contacted by DCS Officer Brumlow, who advised DCS was at an address on Coleman Lane in Tunnel Hill conducting a probation check. The female, identified as Ashley Lynn Hackney, 23, was found hiding in a closet and was wanted by Murray and Whitfield Counties for felony charges. Brumlow advised they received consent to search the residence and located a large amount of marijuana and loaded firearms. Detectives responded to the incident location and learned that the bedroom shared by both Ashley and Tommy Lee Cargal, 27, contained the contraband. Inside the bedroom, deputies located a vacuum-sealed bag that was cut open and partially filled with marijuana, a plastic baggie that was tied up and contained marijuana, a digital scale, a medicine bottle labeled “roaches” with suspected marijuana roaches, three plastic containers with marijuana, and three firearms. The revolver and rifle were both loaded. Ashley and Tommy were both transported to the Catoosa County Jail, where Ashley was found to be a convicted felon. Ashley was charged with purchase, possession, manufacture, distribution, or sale of marijuana purchase, possession, manufacture, distribution, or sale of marijuana, possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of or attempt to commit certain felonies, possession of firearms by convicted felons. Tommy was charged with purchase, possession, manufacture, distribution, or sale of marijuana, purchase, possession, manufacture, distribution, or sale of marijuana, possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of or attempt to commit certain felonies.
