Tennessee teen arrested for DUI in Catoosa County after domestic incident in Hamilton County

According to a Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office incident report, On September 15th, 2023, at 12:26 AM, Corporal Lewis was advised by the Catoosa County Communication Center that Hamilton County Sheriff’s Deputies had stopped a vehicle they had put a BOLO out for in reference to a domestic case that had occurred in Tennessee. Corporal Lewis was advised by the Hamilton County Deputies that they were going to be seeking warrants on the offender in reference to the domestic and that the offender had stated that he had consumed some alcoholic beverages and also located an open container of alcoholic beverage inside the Caden Mercer, 18, of Tennessee, vehicle. Caden stated that he had consumed two to three alcoholic beverages. While Corporal Lewis was speaking with Caden, he could smell the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Caden’s person. Corporal Lewis also observed that Caden had watery, bloodshot, and glassy-looking eyes. Caden showed several signs of impairment and was placed under arrest for DUI. Caden was booked into the Catoosa County Jail, where he showed a BAC of .145. Caden was charged with DUI and open container violation.
