Rossville motorcyclist arrested after leading Fort Oglethorpe PD on high-speed pursuit to his house

According to a Walker County Sheriff’s Office incident report, On Sunday, January 5th, 2023, 4:02 PM, while patrolling the area of Happy Valley Road, Deputy Fouts was advised by Walker 911 that Fort Oglethorpe PD was in pursuit of a motorcycle for reckless driving. Deputy Fouts observed the pursuit at Happy Valley and Salem Rd, with the motorcycle traveling at a very high rate of speed. The motorcycle then took an abrupt un-signaled turn onto Salem Road westbound. Deputy Fouts joined the pursuit as a secondary unit. The motorcycle ran through the stop sign at Salem Road and Wilson Road. The motorcycle then again took an abrupt and un-signaled turn onto Pat Webb Cir. The motorcycle continued to flee, turning left onto Wendy Leigh Cir. Deputy Scarbrough advised that the motorcycle had been dropped in the roadway and that the suspect was running on foot. Deputy Fouts arrived on the scene and found that the motorcyclist, later identified as Cody Allen Munchel, 30, had run inside his residence at 147 Wendy Leigh Cir. Several witnesses identified him as the subject who had run from police. Warrants were applied for against Cody, and he was arrested on March 20th, 2023, and booked into the Walker County Jail.
