According to the report, “Deputy Suits did a U-turn to stop the motorcycle and also observed the motorcycle did not have any vehicle registration displayed. At the intersection of Old Mill Road, Lewis accelerated at a rapid rate of speed, pulling away from Deputy Suits’ patrol vehicle. Deputy Smith advised Catoosa County Dispatch that units were in pursuit and requested Georgia State Patrol.” Lewis turned right southbound onto Three Notch Road, where he passed a truck on the wrong side of the road while also failing to yield at the stop sign at Three Notch Road and Boynton Drive. Deputies pursued Lewis at speeds over 80 mph, with him pulling away from them. Around the Poplar Springs Road intersection, other units joined the pursuit. Corporal Landen observed the motorcycle turn left onto Hackett Mill Road and continued to pursue the motorcycle. Once Corporal Landen got to the intersection of Hackett Mill Road and Industrial Boulevard, he radioed to other officers in the area that the motorcycle should be coming back up on Alabama Highway. At that time, a Ringgold Police Department was able to get the motorcycle stopped and had lewis at gunpoint.
