Trion man arrested after assaulting girlfriend in front of kids during domestic in Whitfield County

According to a Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office incident report, On December 8th, 2022, at approximately 3:30 PM, Deputy Halpin was dispatched to an address on Susan Lane in reference to a possible physical disturbance. Deputy Halpin made contact with the victim and noticed fresh blood on her lower lip. When the deputy asked what had happened, the victim started shaking and crying uncontrollably. According to the report, “Deputy Halpin asked if her boyfriend of over one year, Dillon Blake Daniel, 22, of Trion, hit her, and she shook her head yes. Deputy Halpin was advised by dispatch that Mr. Daniel went out the back door before arriving. Deputy Halpin checked the neighborhood and made contact with Mr. Daniel. Deputy Halpin was attempting to place handcuffs on Mr. Daniel, and he pulled away and started miming in the opposite direction. Deputy Halpin was able to get Mr. Daniel on the ground, and handcuffs placed on him and put him in the back of Deputy Halpin’s patrol car.” According to the report, the victim and Daniel were arguing over the dog eating the food of the two juveniles that were there. During the argument, Daniel open-palm slapped the victim with his right hand causing her mouth to bleed. Both kids were present when the altercation took place. Daniel was booked into the Whitfield County Jail, charged with battery (Family Violence), cruelty to children in the 3rd degree, and obstruction. According to arrest records, Daniel has a history of domestic violence.
