Mother arrested again after leaving toddler in vehicle while she gambled at Chattooga County gas station

According to a Chattooga County Sheriff”s Office incident report, On December 25th, 2022, Christmas Day, A mother is accused of leaving her juvenile toddler in her vehicle in 30-degree weather for over an hour while she played the coin machine at the Hwy. 48 Food Mart. A store employee told Deputy Rob Villagomez the toddler had been in the vehicle for an hour and Mishaela Dawn Rayls, 32, of Rome, never checked on the child. Rayls told the deputy, “she left her child in the car while she played the coin machines with her friend…and thought it would be okay.” Rayls told the deputy her name was Devin Ridge as she was placed into custody. It was later determined she had given the deputy a false name. Rayls is charged with reckless conduct and giving a false name to officer. This is not Rayls first time doing this, According to the Chattooga County Sheriff”s Office reports, on February 23rd, 2022, the mother was also arrested after leaving her infant son in vehicle while she gambled at Chattooga County gas station.
