Homeless woman arrested after driving stolen Honda to Hanks Carpet and stealing truck from parking lot

According to a Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office incident report, On Thursday, January 5th, 2023, at 10:46 AM, Deputy Vazquez to 691 North Varnell (Hanks Carpet) in reference to a motor vehicle theft in progress. According to the report, “The victim of the vehicle theft advised that he was working at his desk when he saw his gray in color 2018 Chevrolet Silverado exiting the parking lot of Hanks Carpet. The victim stated that he went to the parking lot to make sure if that was his vehicle or not. The victim stated that upon his discovery of his vehicle being stolen he spoke with a gentleman that worked for the gas company that was refilling a container nearby. The victim stated that he was told a heavier set Caucasian woman driving a black in color Honda Civic (TDV9408) exited the vehicle and asked the witness for directions to Gainesville Florida. The woman later identified as Abigail Brittany Seay, 25, homeless, then parked the Honda Civic in the road way before entering the Chevy Silverado and driving away. OnStar was able to track the truck and advised it was currently at 6137 Airways Blvd in Catoosa County Georgia. OnStar then disabled the engine and Catoosa County located the truck along with Abigail. Deputy Vazquez discovered at the scene that the black in color, Honda Civic with Georgia registration TDV9408 was also stolen after confirming it through the National Criminal Information Center (NCIC) She was then taken into custody and booked into the Whitfield County Jail, charged with felony theft by receiving stolen vehicle, and felony theft by taking larceny, theft of auto. Abigail was also found with several Visa Debit Cards which were turned into evidence pending further investigation by the Whitfield County Criminal Investigation Division.
