GSP investigating after missing Floyd County man killed in fatal hit-and-run in Polk County

UPDATE: Chasmine Miye’ Lowe, 24, of Rome, was arrested by the Georgia State Patrol and booked into the Polk County Jail on Tuesday. She is charged with felony counts of first-degree vehicular homicide, hit and run resulting in serious injury or death and misdemeanor failure to maintain lane and failure to report an accident resulting in injury, damage, or death. She was released on $10,000 bond according to Polk County Jail records..

According to a Georgia State Patrol Crash report and Public Information Office, The Polk County Police Department requested the Georgia State Patrol Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team’s assistance with an investigation after a body was found by the roadway on Monday. After investigating the scene, it was determined that a pedestrian, a missing man from Floyd County Mr. Sharad Robinson, age 28, was walking southbound on the east shoulder of GA-1 towards Cedartown,” the GSP report stated. “An unknown vehicle, traveling northbound, traveled off the east shoulder of GA-1 and struck Mr. Robinson. After the impact, the vehicle continued northbound, fleeing the scene. Robinson was reported missing from Floyd County on Dec. 18 and according to the GSP report it appeared that his body had been at that location since that date.
