Florida man arrested for DUI after failing to maintain a single lane and running red light in Rossville

According to a Rossville Police Department incident report, On November 12th, 2022, at 1:13 AM, Officer Thomason was sitting at the post office when he observed a 2007 Honda Accord with a Florida tag turn right on red from West Gordon Avenue onto Chickamauga Avenue. Officer Thomason also observed the vehicle failing to maintain a single lane. Officer Thomason reported, “[I] conducted a traffic stop, and we stopped at the intersection of Chickamauga Avenue and Hogan Road. As [I] walked up to the vehicle, [I] looked in the back seat, and within reach of the driver was an open bottle of Jack Daniel’s whiskey and an empty bottle. [I] made contact with the driver, Christopher Harold Manly, 48, Pensacola, Florida, and immediately detected a moderate odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle. [I] advised Mr. Manly of the stop and asked him for his license. Mr. Manly attempted to hand me his debit card but returned it to his wallet and handed me his license.” During field sobriety tests, Manly showed several signs of impairment and a BAC of 0.102. Manly was then placed under arrest for DUI and agreed to a blood test. Manly was transported to the Walker County Jail and charged with DUI, failure to maintain a single lane, open container violation, and failure to obey traffic control device.
