Dalton woman arrested for DUI after speeding on Chatsworth Hwy in Whitfield County

According to a Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office incident report, On June 1st, 2023, at approximately 7:43 PM, Deputy Dennison was sitting stationary at Chatsworth Hwy and Lower Dawnville Road conducting speed enforcement when he observed a 2013 Infiniti QX56 traveling westbound on Chatsworth Hwy at a high rate of speed. Deputy Dennison confirmed the speed to be 83 MPH and initiated a traffic stop. Deputy Dennison made contact with the driver of the vehicle, who was later identified as Tiffany Lee Kilpatrick, 41, of Dalton, and advised her of the reason for the stop. According to the report, “Deputy Dennison obtained Ms. Kilpatrick’s license and went back to his vehicle. Deputy Dennison filled out the citation for Ms. Kilpatrick and then went back up to her vehicle. While speaking again with Ms. Kilpatrick, Deputy Dennison began to notice an odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the vehicle. When Deputy Dennison leaned closer to the window, Ms. Kilpatrick leaned back to possibly keep Deputy Dennison from smelling the odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from her breath. Ms. Kilpatrick was also slurring her speech, and she appeared to have bloodshot and watery eyes.” During Standardized Field Sobriety Testing, Kilpatrick showed several signs of impairment and was placed under arrest for DUI. Kilpatrick agreed to the state test and was transported to the Whitfield County Jail, where she showed a BAC of .192. Kilpatrick was charged with DUI and speeding.
