According to a Dalton Police Department incident report, On April 13th, 2023, at 11:12 AM, Officer Marcus was dispatched to 815 Shugart Road, the Walmart, in reference to a shoplifting n progress. The officer advised the shoplifters were attempting to flee the store and were stopped by Officer Marcus. The officer made contact with the car and asked the passengers, Abigail Riley Howard, 17, of Dalton, and Ciara Snider if they had taken things from Walmart without paying. Abigail stated that they had. The loss prevention associate took possession of the stolen items and confirmed the price of the items. The total of items stolen was approximately 90.00. The items were mostly toys. They were both transported to the Whitfield County Jail and charged with shoplifting.
