Dalton man arrested for DUI after call of disturbance in Whitfield County

According to Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office incident report, On December 2nd, 2022, at 9:39 PM, Deputy Figg responded along with Deputy Dennison to an address on Abercrombie Way in reference to a disturbance. While en route, dispatch advised one of the male subjects was attempting to leave in a black truck. Just prior to Deputy Dennison arriving on the scene, dispatch advised the male subject was leaving in the black pickup truck. According to the report, “As Deputy Dennison was turning onto Piney Ridge off GA-3, he observed the black truck making a right turn onto Piney Ridge from Abercrombie Way. Deputy Dennison activated his blue lights to pull the vehicle over. The driver continued traveling toward GA-3, finally stopping at the stop sign on Piney Ridge at GA-3. “Deputy Dennison made contact with the driver, Cesar Armando Santos, 25, of Dalton, and immediately smelled a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath. Cesar began to slightly resist having to be led back to the truck physically by Deputy Dennison. Once back at the back of the truck, Cesar put both hands in his pockets. Cesar was quickly detained by Deputy Figg. During field sobriety testing, Cesar showed several signs of impairment. Cesar was placed under arrest for DUI and was transported to the Whitfield County Jail, where he refused the state test. Cesar was charged with window tint, tag light violation, and DUI less safe.
