Dalton man arrested after violating bond condition and attempting to kill woman during violent domestic

According to a Dalton Police Department incident report, On July 1st, 2023, at 12:54 AM, Officer Miller responded to an address in reference to a domestic in progress. The victim advised officers that she was asleep on her bed when she was awakened by Brandon Lee Pierce, 31, of Dalton, as he stood over her watching a recording on his phone. She stated that Brandon was talking about all of his problems being her fault and that she was making him crazy. The victim advised that Brandon made the comment that she needed to leave or he would kill her. The victim advised Brandon then began choking her violently for a whole minute, causing her to have trouble breathing. The victim started to feel like Brandon was really going to kill her. The victim advised that Brandon finally let go of her throat and then grabbed her right ankle in an attempt to drag her across the bed. When that failed, Brandon then grabbed her by the hair on her head and dragged her across the room. The victim is eventually able to run out the back door for help in order to get away from Brandon. The victim advised that as she was running down the back stairs, Brandon threw his cell phone, hitting her in her lower back as she ran away. Officers observed marks and bruising on the victim, which confirmed her story. At around 5:21 AM, later that shift, officers were dispatched to the same address when Brandon returned to the scene and tried to break into the house. Officer Ruiz was able to take Brandon into custody. Brandon was found to have a bond condition from June 18th, with the condition to stay away from the address. Brandon was booked into the Whitfield County Jail, charged with aggravated assault and violation of a family violence order.
