Dalton man arrested after fleeing from Whitfield County deputy on 4-wheeler and crashing

According to a Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office incident report, On August 31st, 2023, at 12:05 AM, the Whitfield County 911 Center received a call from a citizen stating somebody kept driving down the neighborhood in a loud four-wheeler. Deputy Warren responded to the area and observed the 4-wheeler pass him at a high rate of speed around a curve at a hill crest near Cherokee Trail. The ATV rider locked up the brakes and slid several feet, swerving back and forth. The driver of the ATV approached the patrol car slowly and took off at a high rate of speed without yielding to Deputy Warren’s blue lights. Deputy Warren clearly observed the ATV rider (white male, 20s, with a red beard) and eventually lost sight driving down DeSoto trail. Deputy Warren went back to the neighborhood on DeSoto Trl and observed that the ATV had crashed and the male had taken off on foot, climbing fences by the house of 1691. The mother of the male provided his name, Henery Lamar Daniel, 25, of Dalton. According to the report, “Deputy Warren looked up the male and confirmed it was the person who ran from the Deputy on the ATV. Deputy Warren and multiple officers patrolled the neighborhood with negative contact. Deputy Warren took out warrants through the courts for charges of felony fleeing attempting to elude, reckless driving, too fast for conditions, and off-road vehicles. On September 14th, 2023, Daniel was taken into custody on the warrants and booked into the Whitfield County Jail.
