Chickamauga woman arrested for DUI with 1-year-old daughter in Catoosa County

According to a Georgia State Patrol incident report, On February 4th, 2023, at 9:38 PM, Trooper Dustin Clark was patrolling the area of Poplar Springs Road and Bagget Road in Catoosa County when he observed a white 2012 Chevrolet Cruz fail to maintain their lane several times. Trooper Clark conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the female driver, identified as Ashlyn Jordan Venable, 29, of Chickamauga. Trooper Clark reported, “While [I] was speaking with Mrs. Venable, [I] observed her eyes to be bloodshot and watery. I also observed Mrs. Venable’s speech to be slow and slurred. [I] questioned Mrs. Venable on how much alcohol she had to drink tonight. Mrs. Venable advised me that she had one beer and 3/4 of another beer at a Mexican restaurant in Ringgold. Mrs. Venable’s daughter was in a car seat, properly restrained in the back seat.” During field sobriety tests, Venable showed several signs of impairment and a BAC of .130 on a PBT. Venable was placed under arrest for DUI and agreed to the state test. Venable was transported to the Catoosa County Jail, where she showed a BAC of .142 on the state test. Venable was charged with DUI, endangering child while DUI, and failing to maintain lane.
