Chattanooga woman arrested for DUI drugs after driving all over the roadway in Rossville

According to a Rossville Police Department incident report, On August 5th, 2023, at 2:54 AM, Sgt. Carter attempted to stop a Nissan Titan that was driving 26 mph all over Chickamauga Ave in Rossville. Sgt. Carter also reported the vehicle drove into the northbound lanes while driving southbound on Chickamauga Ave. The vehicle eventually came to a stop at Chambers Street, where the officer made contact with the driver, identified as Ashley Ann Wells, 33, of Chattanooga, TN. Sgt. Cater observed Ashley had bloodshot eyes and was franticly moving things around in the passenger seat area. Sgt. Cater reported, “As Ashley stepped out of the vehicle, she was stumbling to get to the rear of the vehicle. Officer Thomason conducted some advanced field sobriety tests where Ashley showed signs of drug impairment.” During a consent search of the vehicle officers located marijuana and meth. Ashley denied knowing they were in the vehicle. Ashley was placed under arrest and agreed to the state test. Ashley was then transported to the Walker County Jail, where she was turned over on Superior Court charges. Ashley was charged with DUI drugs, failure to maintain lane, no insurance, driving on wrong side of roadway, failure to yield to emergency vehicle, possession of marijuana less than one ounce, and possession of meth.
