Officer Masciovecchio arrived and observed a silver Hyundai Sonata in the ditch. Officer Masciovecchio reported, “[I] looked over and could see a female, later identified as Kelli Allison Ansari, 37, of Calhoun, peering out from behind the ice machine. [I] walked over and made contact with Kelli, who was on the phone, [I] asked her to get off the phone, and she told me no. [I] asked her what was going on, and she stated that nothing was wrong and that she was OK. Kelli kept repeating that she was fine and nothing had happened. [I] asked Kelli for her driver’s license, and she looked in her bag for it but then told me it was in her car and pointed to the car in the ditch. During this time, [I] could smell the strong odor of alcoholic beverage coming from Kelli’s person.” When officers asked Kelli if she could do field sobriety testing, she said no because she was drunk. Kelli was then placed under arrest for DUI and agreed to the state test. Kelli was then transported to the Floyd County Jail and charged with DUI and failing to maintain a single lane.
