According to a Floyd County Police Department incident report, On May 3rd, 2023, at 12:31 PM, Officer Bleecker was dispatched to the area of Gowen Drive and Burnett Ferry Road for a domestic altercation. While en route, dispatch advised that the female subject, later identified as Kitsy Pauline Ashley, 45, of Cedartown, had possibly struck the male with her vehicle and was leaving the scene. Officer Bleecker arrived and observed State Patrol Trooper Perry with the injured male victim. He complained that he was in severe pain all over and said that Ashley had run him over. He admitted to EMS that he had taken “2 Oxy” pills earlier in the day. He also kept saying that he wanted to be taken by ambulance to his house in order to retrieve his billfold. Eddie was advised that EMS was not a taxi service and they would take him to the hospital for further evaluation. A BOLO was given for Ashley, and a short time later, Officer Wishart located the vehicle on Hwy 27 South, just past Booger Hollow Road. Ashley was run into the system and found to have a suspended license. Officer Bleecker spoke with multiple witnesses at the scene of the assault. The witnesses stated the couple was arguing at the Citco gas station on Burnett Ferry Road at Robinson Road. According to the report, “At some point, the witnesses advised the argument made its way into the road where both the victim and Ashley got out of the vehicle arguing. The witnesses said they were not sure who started the fight but said that the victim grabbed Ashley’s hair, but she was able to gain an advantage over him and threw him to the ground. She then got on top of him and began to strike him multiple times in the face with closed fists. They said Ashley then got into the car and reversed her vehicle down Gowen Dr, which created a space between her and Eddie of approximately 25-30 yards. They said that the victim was standing in the roadway when she put the car in drive and accelerated over the victim, running him over.” The officer asked one of the witnesses if Ashley knew she had hit a person, and he said, “For sure…” she knew she had hit him. He said that Ashley did not attempt to swerve or stop the vehicle to avoid striking the victim. Ashley was arrested and transported to the Floyd County Jail, charged with aggravated assault FV, battery FV, aggressive driving, hit and run, and driving on a suspended license.
