Drunk Dalton man resist arrest after saying racist slurs to juvenile kid in Whitfield County

According to a Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office incident report, On February 12th, 2023, at 10:18 AM, Deputies Findley, and Craig were dispatched to Brickyard Road in reference to a disturbance. Deputy Craig arrived first on the scene and began talking to the victim. Once Deputy Findley arrived, he began talking to Jonathan Dooley, 49, of Dalton. Jonathan was not being cooperative and kept saying nothing happened the entire time. Deputies began to speak with Jonathan and advised him it would be a good idea for him to go inside his house and go to sleep due to his obvious heavy intoxication. Jonathan refused to go inside and began yelling at everyone. Every time Jonathan started yelling, he would call the victim’s juvenile grandson the “n” word due to his skin color. In addition to the racist remarks, Jonathan kept mentioning that he would “kick their asses”. Jonathan even threatened to kill the victim before being arrested by deputies. Jonathan resisted arrest and was taken to the ground, where he was handcuffed. Jonathan was transported to the Whitfield County Jail and charged with terroristic threats and acts, disorderly conduct, and willful obstruction of law enforcement.
