According to a Dalton Police Department incident report, On April 5th, 2023, at 6:20 PM, Officer McBrayer was conducting mobile speed enforcement on Waugh Street when he observed a black Nissan Altima speeding at 54 mph in a 40 mph zone. Officer McBrayer performed a traffic stop on the vehicle at the intersection of Waugh Street at Manly Street, making contact with the driver, Liana C. Tarrant, 37, of Dalton. Officer McBrayer reported, “She stated that she did not have her license with her. [I] then returned to my vehicle and checked her information. [I] learned that she did not have a license in Georgia and that her license in Illinois was suspended. [I] also learned that she had an active felony warrant for her arrest.” Tarrant was taken into custody and booked into the Whitfield County Jail. Tarrant was charged with fugitive from justice (Will County, Illinois), speeding, driving with a suspended or revoked license, and driving without a license.
