Tennessee woman found passed out behind the wheel after leaving Dalton bar arrested for DUI

According to a Dalton Police Department incident report, On March 26th, 2023, at 6:14 AM, Officer Morang was dispatched to 1430 West Walnut Ave, Olive Garden construction site in reference to there being a light left on inside the gate of the construction site. After the call at the construction site was cleared, Officer Marcus was approached by an employee at the gas station who pointed out a blue passenger car that was parked at one of the pumps. The employee stated that the vehicle was parked there when she arrived at work at 6:00 AM, and she advised that the car was in park but that she could hear the vehicle’s engine is accelerated. Officer Marcus observed two females asleep in the driver’s seat and front passenger seat of the car. Officer Marcus reported, “[I] could hear the engine being accelerated and realized that the sleeping driver had her foot on the gas pedal of the car. On both sides of the car, [I] could observe a significant amount of vomit on the ground. [I] tapped on the window of the driver, Mariah Warren, 27, of Knoxville, Tennessee. Mariah woke up and rolled down her window. [I] could detect the strong odor of alcohol and vomit coming from Mariah and from the vehicle. [I] could also see vomit inside the car on and near Mariah. [I] asked Mariah if she was okay. She stated that she and her friend were just “Sleeping it off”. [I] asked Mariah how much she had to drink. She mumbled that she had a couple. When I asked her to clarify, she stated that she had a “Cup” of alcohol. [I] asked Mariah if she had come from the Oyster Pub. She stated that she did.” During field sobriety testing, Mariah showed several signs of impairment and positive on a PBT. Officer Marcus reported, “[I] read Mariah implied consent. Mariah kept asking me legal questions and refused to give me a yes or a no on implied consent. [I] accepted this as a refusal.” Mariah was transported to the Whitfield County Jail, charged with DUI less safe.
