Summerville man arrested by on child molestation charge in Chattooga County

According to a press release from the Summerville Police Department, Police conducted a month-long investigation after receiving reports that Derek Cody Bowman, 32, of Summerville, had sexual contact with the juvenile that was visiting his residence on Summerville Gardens Drive. The SPD, Department of Family and Children’s Services and the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit’s Children’s Advocacy Center conducted interviews and gathered witness statements, which allowed agents to gather evidence and obtain a warrant for Bowman’s arrest. Bowman is currently charged with one count of child molestation. However, the investigation is still on-going as authorities work out if any other victims or other illegal activities were involved.
