Rome woman found in possession of stolen vehicle after officers track stolen phone to her house in Floyd County

According to a Floyd County Police Department incident report, On November 17th, 2022, at 8:37 AM, Officer Matthews was dispatched to the listed location to assist Rome City Officer Stallings in recovering a stolen cell phone that he had tracked to the address. According to the report, Stallings arrived at the residence and ran the license plate of the vehicle that was sitting in the yard. After running the plate, Stallings discovered that the vehicle was stolen. Officer Matthews and Stallings then made contact with Kristin Breez Earwood, 38, Rome, and asked her why she was in possession of the stolen car. Kristin stated that she had received the car from her friend, who is a friend of another friend. Officer Matthews reported, “[I] advised Kristin that the car had been reported and entered stolen three days ago and [I] asked her if she had been in possession of it. Kristin stated yes and that she drove the vehicle to the residence last night. Kirstin was transported to the Floyd County Jail and charged with felony theft by receiving stolen property and felony theft by taking. According to arrest records, Kristin has a lengthy record regarding multiple theft-related arrests.
