Rome man arrested after kicking dog and violently beating man in front of 3-year-old daughter

According to a Floyd County Police Department incident report, On September 15th, 2023, at 9:16 PM, Officer Wright was dispatched to 262 Warren Road for a fight. The officer arrived on the scene and spoke to the victim. The victim stated Sam Newit Richardson Jr., 32, of Rome, entered the residence to pick up his three-year-old daughter. According to the report, The small child was sitting beside the victim when Sam entered the room. When Sam’s daughter got off her chair to greet Sam, she startled the small dog, causing the dog to bark. The victim informed the officer, Sam violently kicked the dog across the room. The victim advised the dog hit the door, causing the dog unjustifiable pain. The dog yelped in extreme pain. The victim stated he stood up and stated, “Hold on, mother f**ker”. Sam then started violently punching him in the face. Sam struck him several times in the face, causing the victim to receive severe injuries to his face, causing extreme disfigurement. On September 22nd, 2023, Sam was arrested on felony warrants and booked into the Floyd County Jail, charged with aggravated battery, cruelty to animals, and cruelty to children to witness violence.
