Rocky Face man arrested for DUI after 911 call from concerned citizen and crashing in Dalton

According to a Dalton Police Department incident report, On November 20th, 2022, at 3:14 AM, Officer Jenkins responded to the area in reference to a gray Chevy Silverado stuck in a ditch on the Bypass near Veterans Drive. Officer Jenkins arrived on the scene and located the truck in the ditch with the driver, later identified as Angel Husiel Resendiz, 28, of Rocky Face, still in the driver’s seat. Officer Jenkins reported, “As [I] approached the passenger side window and tried speaking with Angel, [I] could smell the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle. Angel was unable to speak or understand our questions due to his having no hearing. [I] then went around to the driver’s side of the vehicle and helped Angel out of the truck. Once Angel was out of the vehicle, [I] could smell a strong smell of alcoholic beverage coming from his breath. Angel also had a hard time staying balanced and stumbled multiple times. [I] and officer Morang tried writing down questions for Angel, like where he was coming from and what happened, but Angel was unable to answer those questions. It was determined that this vehicle was a BOLO vehicle shortly before this call time. When that BOLO was given, the caller stated that the vehicle was all over the roadway on Glenwood Ave and at one point, left the roadway and hit the landscaping of the checkers. Angel was placed under arrest for DUI less safe, and he refused the state test. Angel was placed under arrest for DUI less safe alcohol, and leaving the scene of an accident.
